How does a hybrid water heater work?
It moves heat from the surrounding air into your water instead of relying only on electric heating elements. Think of an air conditioner working in reverse. Backup electric elements help during periods of high demand.
How much will I actually save?
Our headline uses ENERGY STAR’s $410 annual energy-savings estimate for a three-person household replacing a standard electric water heater, at an assumed electricity rate of $0.146/kWh. It is a general planning benchmark, not a measured comparison of these two specific models, a local average or a guarantee. Your usage, electricity rate, room conditions and operating mode affect actual savings. Larger households may need a different size and price.
Is the cost after savings my actual loan payment?
No. The full loan payment remains due each month. Estimated savings appear as lower electricity spending compared with a standard electric heater. The headline subtracts those estimated savings and averages the maximum $89 lender fee over ten years to illustrate the cost; the fee itself is due with your first payment.
Is upgrading worth it compared with your $2,400 electric heater?
The comparison shows our 50-gallon Rheem Professional Classic and 50-gallon ProTerra, with both purchases financed over the same ten-year term. Estimated energy savings can help cover the hybrid’s extra monthly payment. Cash purchases give a different comparison, shown in the cost breakdown. Extra ducting or other installation work changes the economics. We do not assume the standard heater needs replacing when its six-year warranty ends.
What could increase my installation price?
Ducting, a condensate pump or new drain route, an expansion tank, difficult access and construction can add to the price. The form includes priced additions separately and flags work that needs a closer look. We confirm the final written scope, price and applicable taxes before any work begins.
Can it go in my water heater closet?
Often, if the tank, drain pan, plumbing and service access fit and there is a suitable airflow solution. Small enclosed spaces may need dedicated intake and exhaust ducts. We check the exact model’s installation requirements and the duct route; having an exterior wall alone does not guarantee a suitable installation.
What if I have a gas or propane water heater?
This online offer is for existing electric tank replacements. Gas conversions often need a new electrical circuit, and we do not currently provide electrical services. Call us to discuss your situation before booking.
Which size should I choose?
We start with your current tank size and whether it meets your hot-water needs. If you do not know the size, we ask how many people live in your home instead. The form recommends a starting size from 40, 50, 65 or 80 gallons. These are preliminary recommendations; the technician confirms capacity and physical fit.
Will it make the room cooler or noisier?
The heat pump releases cooler, drier air and has a fan and compressor you may hear. Location matters, particularly near bedrooms and living spaces. We consider sound, airflow, condensate disposal and the effect on the surrounding room when reviewing the installation.
What is included in standard installation?
The quoted tank, standard replacement labor, permit, drain pan, haul-away of the old heater, startup and an operating walkthrough. Ducting, an expansion tank, a condensate pump and unusual access or construction are separate when needed. We do not provide electrical work. The final written quote identifies applicable taxes and any added scope before you approve the work.
Do I have to upload photos?
No. Photos are strongly recommended because they help us check clearances and arrive with the right materials, but they are never required to see an estimate or book. You can add them after submitting your installation request.
Is this an installation appointment or a sales visit?
For a suitable installation, it is a provisional installation appointment based on the answers you provide. We come prepared for that scope. Before beginning, the technician checks the setup and asks you to approve the final written quote. If the answers reveal an unresolved issue, the site clearly labels your date as a request for our team to confirm.
Can I book late at night or for the same day?
Yes. We accept online requests at any hour. On weekdays, a completed booking received before 7 a.m. Central can be scheduled that day. At or after 7 a.m., the earliest date is the next weekday. Weekend requests start with Monday. We install on weekdays and coordinate your arrival window separately.
How does the 10-year financing work?
The payment example uses GreenSky Plan 2740, a 120-month term and a 9.99% fixed interest rate, subject to credit approval. A lender origination fee of up to $89 may be due with the first payment and affects the APR. Your estimate shows the amount financed, estimated payment and fee example together. Choosing financing on this form does not apply for credit or guarantee approval.
What does the 10-year warranty cover?
These models have a manufacturer’s 10-year limited tank and parts warranty, subject to its terms. A warranty term is not a promise of product lifespan and does not mean 10 years of free maintenance or all labor. We explain the applicable equipment and installation coverage with your quote.
Are rebates included in the price?
No. The estimate does not subtract any tax credit, utility rebate or future energy savings. Programs and eligibility vary by address, utility, model and installation date. We can help you check what is available for your installation before you rely on an incentive.
